After months of visiting restaurants, bars, kitchens and hospitality venues across Ontario, the 2026 Gold Plate Awards tour is entering its final stretch — and the anticipation is building.
Throughout 2026, the Gold Plate Awards team has been on the road experiencing the people, places and culinary talent that continue to shape Ontario’s hospitality industry. From established dining destinations to exciting new openings, our tour has given us the opportunity to experience firsthand the passion and creativity that exists throughout the province.
Now, as our Ontario tour approaches completion, we are preparing to announce the recipients of the 2026 Gold Plate Awards.
The Gold Plate Awards were created to recognize the people and establishments that go above and beyond to create exceptional hospitality experiences. We believe the restaurants, chefs, sommeliers, bars, pizzerias, caterers, event venues and hospitality teams that work tirelessly behind the scenes deserve their own moment of recognition — their own flowers — for what they bring to the industry and to their guests.
And that recognition is about more than simply what appears on a plate.
Our judging and evaluation process considers the complete experience. Cuisine, creativity, service, atmosphere, presentation, hospitality and attention to detail all contribute to what makes a venue stand out.
The 2026 awards will recognize excellence across a wide range of categories, reflecting just how diverse Ontario’s culinary and hospitality scene has become.
