The Fried Chicken Team That Closed PG Clucks Is Back, and It’s Serving Pita

Fried chicken fans took a hit in July 2026, when Pawel and Steph Grezlikowski announced they would close their beloved chicken shop, PG Clucks, after a decade of serving towering fried chicken sandwiches. Now the husband-and-wife team has surfaced with something that could hardly be more different.

Loomi is their new restaurant, and it swaps the deep fryer for the pita oven. The menu centres on proteins like chicken schnitzel and braised lamb served on fresh-baked pita, alongside a lineup of dips, pickles and seasonal ferments. It is a much lighter, fresher style of cooking than the cholesterol-heavy comfort food that made their name, though the chicken-loving fans will notice schnitzel is still on the menu.

Reinvention is a recurring theme in Toronto’s restaurant scene. When a concept closes, the people behind it do not simply disappear. They take what they learned, and they try again with a new idea. For the Grezlikowskis, that means pivoting from a sandwich shop built on indulgence to a menu built around freshness and bright flavours.

Whether Loomi becomes as popular as its predecessor remains to be seen, but the early reception suggests plenty of loyal diners are willing to follow the team wherever they go.
