This Queen West Spot Brings the Bazaars of Tehran to Toronto, One Koobideh Skewer at a Time

Walk into Kebab Bazari and, past the jazz standards drifting from the speakers, the first thing that hits you is the rich aroma of beef hitting an open grill, layered with a heavy dose of spice. With its simple signage on a heavily trafficked stretch of Queen Street West, the restaurant could easily blend into the background — but its devout local following says otherwise.

Opened in 2025, Kebab Bazari pays homage to Persia’s rich culinary history, with a menu centred on traditional kebabs known as koobideh, alongside stews, salads, sandwiches and snacks. “Persian menus are usually full of different foods,” co-owner Enzo tells blogTO. “We chose the most general and common ones for people to try. Keep things simple, but keep the quality high.” The tight-knit team, often mistaken for family, has built the kind of loyal following that keeps regulars coming back specifically for that quality.
