A 33-Year-Old Toronto Portuguese Institution Just Opened Its First-Ever Second Location

Since 1993, Bairradino Churrasqueira has been a Junction Triangle mainstay, earning a reputation for some of the best Portuguese-style charcoal-grilled chicken in the city from its cozy Lansdowne quarters. After 33 years as a single-location operation, the beloved churrasqueira has finally opened a second spot.

The new location has slotted into the former home of Fahmee Bakery, which spent three years turning out some of Toronto’s favourite Jamaican patties from the same retail and production space before shifting its focus back to Scarborough, where the business originally began. The new spot sits within easy reach of Bairradino’s existing Junction Triangle fan base, while also bridging into Brockton Village and upper Parkdale — introducing the restaurant to entirely new pockets of the city.

For a restaurant that’s built over three decades of loyalty the old-fashioned way — consistency, quality, and community ties — the expansion marks a genuinely significant milestone, one that longtime regulars have likely been hoping for for years.

Craving proper Portuguese-style barbecue chicken? Bairradino’s new second location is open now, bridging the Junction Triangle, Brockton Village, and Parkdale.
