Little Baba by Amal — Fast-Casual Michelin on King West

When Amal opened on King Street West, it quickly earned Michelin recognition — four consecutive years on the Michelin Guide and a spot on OpenTable’s top 100 Canadian restaurants. The food was exceptional, but the format was formal.

Little Baba by Amal, which opened in January 2026 at the former Bar Chica space on King West, takes the same culinary standards and makes them accessible. Executive Chef Rony Ghaleb is working with the same suppliers and recipes, but in a fast-casual format designed for quick visits, takeout, and delivery.

For the nightlife crowd, this matters. Late night, after-the-show, between-venues hunger is a real phenomenon in the Entertainment District, and Little Baba slots in perfectly. Middle Eastern flavours done with Michelin-level care, but without the dress code and reservation requirement.

It’s one of those openings that makes King West feel more layered and interesting — proof that the neighbourhood can hold both bottle-service clubs and serious food culture at the same time.
