INK Entertainment has been behind some of Toronto’s most memorable venues — REBEL, Cabana Pool Bar, DPRTMNT — but Portland Square on King West might be its most ambitious project to date.
Opened in summer 2025, Portland Square is a four-storey dining destination at the corner of King and Portland. Each floor is its own distinct concept. The ground level introduces Beso by Patria, a Spanish-inspired tapas and cocktail bar with a lively, approachable vibe. The second floor houses Animl, a high-energy steakhouse that’s already become a reservation hotspot. The third floor features Honey Chinese, a moody contemporary Chinese space inspired by nostalgic Canadian-Chinese cooking. And the fourth floor crowns the building with Prima Donna — a contemporary Italian restaurant with a rooftop patio and a glamorous aesthetic that nods to Italian mobster lore.
Two of the four concepts stay open until 2 a.m. on weekends — a deliberate choice by founder Charles Khabouth to address what he sees as Toronto’s problem with early kitchen closures. The goal is to shift the culture toward later dining, the way it happens in cities like New York and Barcelona.
For anyone who loves King West but has felt the neighbourhood needed something fresh and layered, Portland Square delivers exactly that.
