The Gold Plate Awards Embark on a Culinary Journey Across Canada
MONTREAL, ON – October 30, 2025 — The internationally recognized Gold Plate Awards, celebrating over 25 years of excellence in hospitality and dining, is proud to announce its Canadian tour — beginning in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. This marks the start of a national initiative to spotlight Canada’s finest restaurants, supper clubs, and culinary innovators worthy of the prestigious Gold Plate distinction.
With its rich multicultural tapestry and world-class dining scene, Canada offers an extraordinary range of global flavors and culinary talent. From refined tasting menus to beloved neighborhood gems, the Gold Plate Awards team will be touring select cities across the country in search of establishments that embody creativity, consistency, and hospitality excellence.
Following on-site visits and evaluations, qualified recipients will begin receiving their official Gold Plate Award plaques in December 2025, recognizing their achievement and inviting diners to experience a truly distinguished destination.
After extensive research into Canada’s hospitality landscape, the Gold Plate Awards organization has appointed Richard De Sousa, longtime producer of the Toronto Nightclub Awards, to lead the Canadian division of the program.
For over two decades, the Toronto Nightclub Awards has been a hallmark of the city’s nightlife and hospitality industry, honoring excellence across bars, nightclubs, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Known for celebrating both innovation and tradition, the annual event has helped spotlight emerging talent and establish industry benchmarks within Toronto’s vibrant social scene.
